for package delivery a few ideas rised during the brainstorm. from these ideas two main ideas where chosen to elaborate.

Package Delivery: box drop

in this picture the idea for the box drop technology can be seen

in this idea the package will come into the system at the top by a conveyor belt.
At the moment the package is on top of the right box it will "drop down" via a trap till it has reached the right box.
Boxes at the bottom always have to be filled first. This way there can't be any personal boxes.

Package Delivery 2: conveyor belts

In the picture the concept for the conveyor belt system can be seen.

The concept is to have a mailbox which can be accessed by both sides. this to increase the boxes at one system. we also see that this is not useful for flats where you would like the mailbox against a wall.
Through the middle of the boxes a conveyor belt runs. This conveyor belt brings the packages to the right box.
The belt can move up and down to get to the level of the right box.
When a package gets to the right box this box already is opened at the side of the conveyor belt. (boxes are always closed for thief's who maybe open one box an by reaching try to get to another)
The packages will be able to enter the box by using the technique seen in the next movie
90 degrees conveyor belt movement

getting your package

There are two ways we thought of in order to receive your package.
The first one is with a code (digits, QR-code, barcode, etc.).
The second one is with a personal key.

The first way is our favorite because it can be applied to all mailboxes. (in flats, at pick up points or for personal mailboxes)

In this picture a package pick up point can be seen. At the screen a code can scanned or filled in, after which it is approved opens the right box.
For these pick up places we thought about working together with stores. But if we decide to work together you have to account for closing times.
Being able to deliver after closing time will be one of the strongest points for prime air.

The second way needs a personal box for everyone. If we will use this system our idea of the box drop technology won't be executable.
