This article describes different methods for detecting certain objects external to the vehicle. In case something is blocking our current path for the quadcopter, we’ll need to be able to detect it and move around it. For getting the correct parts and the programming of the quadcopter, we’ll have to first decide on which method the quadcopter will be using. Next to describing methods of detecting, it also describes some parts automobile safety and how to obtain it.

here’s a quick overview of possible methods for our quadcopter.

  • GPS
    • can only be used if the quadcopter decides to follow a road and might still be problematic since things like trees are not marked on the gps.
  • Radar and Laser Radar Detection and Identification of Objects External to the Vehicle
