RoPod/Tutorials/Installing Ubuntu (Windows Part)
The software that is used to control the ropods works under Linux operating system.
To ensure compatibility of the ropod tools being developed, install Ubuntu 16.04 LTS (Long Time Support).
First, create a bootable USB stick following this procedure.
Before continuing, keep close by some ear-plugs and proceed with installation when few or no people are around (Not a joke after all). For some strange reason, when using the new Zbook laptops, the computer might make annoying noises when restarting your computer during installation.
Then restart your computer and make sure to setup your BIOS to make sure your system boots from the USB. Moreover, disable in your BIOS the Secure Boot before installation.
To access the BIOS setup menu, you might need to press F9 or F12 while restarting. Each computer has different interface to change the BIOS setup, thus try to find out how to make the necessary changes.
If you succeeded to boot from the USB, follow these instructions.
After the installation, follow immediately part 2 of this tutorial. Especially be sure that you upgrade you graphics card driver. There are some issues with Ubuntu 16.04 and Nvidia graphic cards. Therefore, before proceeding any further, setup the graphics card driver to avoid that Ubuntu 16.04 freezes.
