To help your group and the teachers prepare for the tutor meetings, we would like you to answer a few questions in between sessions. The following paragraphs list the questions for each of the weeks, please write you answers directly underneath the questions.

After the kick-off - Week 1

  • What are you expecting to learn during the Robots course?
    • How to come up with a project from scratch in a team with broad experiences in differing fields, and plan this in such a way that there is a satisfying end-result at the end of a set amount of weeks.
    • Increasing communicative skills as well as some extra presentation experience.
  • What kind of coaching do you expect?
    • Weekly monday-meetings with a tutor whose goal is to guide us through some of our discussions and highlight which of our ideas might be better than others.
    • Tutor's job it not to do our work, but merely to guide our effort in the right direction and prevent us from getting lost during the project.
  • What kind of coaching would you prefer?
    • Actually, this kind of coaching should be just fine. It stimulates to put in effort, considering the tutor will prefer the team to exercise a dominant role in the weekly meetings. If the team manages to do so, their effort will be sufficient and thus their grade will be as well.
  • What will the coaches expect of you?
    • To actually put in effort every single week, which makes sense.
    • Discuss ideas and other material among the team before presenting it to the tutor.
    • Be on time. Exceptions may occur in case of NS malfunctions.

After the first tutor meeting - Week 2

  • What is the most interesting thing you learned in the coaching meeting of the previous week and why?
    • The fact that our initial project idea for autonomous mobility scooters was considered too broad. This felt interesting because we made it broad to ensure that we could keep putting effort into the project, without suddenly running out of material to work with. However, considering detailed research can be conducted in more specific forms of autonomous scooters, we understand that there was no need for us to fear running out of material.
  • How did you incorporate coaches' feedback of the previous meeting in your project?
    • For starters, we divided our final deliverables into both a literature study and a computer model, considering the feedback rightfully stated that simply conducting a literature study would be hard to keep going throughout the entire project.
    • Second, we came up with a more structured idea of what we actually want to deliver. The computer model is going to be a representation of a potential autonomous scooter, consisting of compotents that are actually available on the market today. Also, we started thinking about a more specific direction for our literature study. Potential directions could be scooters solely optimized for shopping environments, or mainly for public transport. The decision for the direction is yet to be made, considering it will depend on the information we gather throughout this week as well. The study will start with somewhat more general information anyway, meaning this will not pose any problems.
  • What new activities did you undertake during this week? What did you learn from these activities?
    • We created a state-of-the-art page and started combing all the information we have into one story. We made a planning for the project. We gathered factual data regarding accidents involving mobility scooters in order to strenghten our claim for the need of autonomous mobility scooters. And finally we summarized the important information from our entire initial research.
    • By working through these activities, we learned that our claim for the need of autonomous mobility scooters has a solid base, and also that creating a planning for a project with as much freedom as this one can be quite restricting, considering you never know which kinds of new and interesting information might come up later on during the project.
  • What did you do to prepare for next week's meeting?
    • Like stated above, we worked through the points of feedback we received from the coaches, and continued deepening our knowledge about the use and user base of mobility scooters as well as standard wheelchairs.
    • During the meeting, we will discuss the points mentioned above with the coaches, to ensure that we are correctly responding to their feedback, and discuss whether there are any shortcomings in our current approach for the project. If there are, this will enable us to improve those immediately.

After the second tutor meeting - Week 3

  • What is the most interesting thing you learned in the coaching meeting of the previous week and why?
    • Our planning was not detailed enough. That cause most of our other problemens. After the meeting we made our planning better. Now we have a better understanding what our end product is going to be. Which parts is contains and who is doing what.
  • How did you incorporate coaches' feedback of the previous meeting in your project?
    • We made a better planning. And are working acoriding the planning.
  • What new activities did you undertake during this week? What did you learn from these activities?
    • We worke on the requierement for a mobility scooter.
  • What did you do to prepare for next week's meeting?
    • We want to know if our current planning is detaile enough and the content is good.

After the third tutor meeting - Week 4

  • What is the most interesting thing you learned in the coaching meeting of the previous week and why?
    • That the sensorfusion is even more difficult then we thought and that this is an intire project on it's own.
  • How did you incorporate coaches' feedback of the previous meeting in your project?
    • We have specified our requirements better and made a separate section about the sensorfusion because this plays a bigger part then what we first imagined.
  • What new activities did you undertake during this week? What did you learn from these activities?
    • We started researching sensorfusion and from this we learned that the hardest part of combining sensors is getting the different inputs to overlap to form one solid "picture".
  • What did you do to prepare for next week's meeting?
    • Better specified our requirments to be better able to anwser our problem.

After the fourth tutor meeting - Week 5

  • What is the most interesting thing you learned in the coaching meeting of the previous week and why?
  • How did you incorporate coaches' feedback of the previous meeting in your project?
  • What new activities did you undertake during this week? What did you learn from these activities?
  • What did you do to prepare for next week's meeting?

After the fifth tutor meeting - Week 6

  • How did you incorporate coaches' feedback of the previous meeting in your project?
  • What new activities did you undertake during this week? What did you learn from these activities?
  • What did you do to prepare for next week's meeting?
